These terms apply when you offer or receive food or other agreed goods through Rooted Commons sharing tools. They supplement the account terms. The sharing arrangement identifies the donor, recipient where known, and anyone providing transport or coordination.
Making an offer
Offer only goods you are entitled to give away and that are suitable for their intended use. Sharing is not a way to dispose of unsafe goods. Describe the goods, quantity, relevant dates and known storage, allergen or safety information accurately.
Free sharing does not become a sale simply because Rooted Commons records or coordinates it. Any payment or paid service must be separately agreed and identified.
Arranging handover
Agree who will receive the goods, when and where, and any transport or storage needs. Tell the other participants promptly if you cannot complete an arrangement. Do not leave goods without an agreed recipient or safe handover.
Each participant remains responsible for the duties applying to its own handling, transport, storage and redistribution. Keep the information needed to identify the source and onward business recipients. Report a safety concern immediately and cooperate on stopping distribution, contacting affected recipients and any withdrawal or recall.
Records and privacy
Keep the sharing record accurate, including what was actually handed over and any change of destination. Do not add unnecessary personal details about informal recipients such as neighbours.
Records are available to authorised participants for coordination, safety and required record-keeping. We may publish totals that do not identify individual recipients, such as quantities or estimated portions shared. Individual sharing records are not made public simply because those totals are published.
Use contact information only for the arrangement or a separate lawful purpose. The privacy notice explains handling and retention.
Stopping
You may stop making new offers at any time. Resolve existing arrangements safely. Ending participation does not remove responsibility for goods already supplied or records that must be kept.
The account terms cover contact, service access and legal rights. Separate agreements apply where an organisation operates a collection point, sells goods or provides a paid service.
