These terms cover your Rooted Commons account and use of its tools. The Platform Operator identified above runs the website.
Your account
Accounts are for individuals. Use your own account, keep sign-in links private and keep your contact details current. Tell us promptly if someone else may have gained access.
Creating an account does not require paid membership or selling. Growing, sharing and volunteering are valid forms of participation in their own right.
Accounts may be granted permissions to act for a particular group or business. When acting for a group or business, stay within your authority and tell its administrator when your access should change.
Using the service
Use the service lawfully and respectfully. Do not access information without permission, interfere with the service or upload harmful material. Only share information and images you have the right to use.
Use other people’s information only for the purpose for which you received it. Portal access does not give permission to add members or partners to your marketing lists.
You retain your existing rights in material you provide. You allow us to store, display and process it as needed to provide the features you choose. Publication and sharing follow the relevant controls and agreements. Software licences and other people’s rights remain in place.
Separate activities
Growing-site records, membership, purchases, selling and collection hosting have their own terms. Those terms apply to that activity; an account alone does not create those relationships.
The Platform Operator does not become the seller of a product or the operator of every Circle by running the website.
Availability, changes and leaving
We will provide the service with reasonable care. Maintenance and faults may interrupt access. We will explain significant planned changes in advance where reasonably possible.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, safety, legal duties or serious misuse. We will explain the reason unless doing so would create a risk or break the law. Contact us if you believe a restriction is wrong.
You may stop using your account and ask us to close it. Restrictions or closure do not cancel existing orders or remove rights to money, records or remedies. We will provide a suitable contact route for those matters. Keep copies of records you need; the privacy notice explains retention.
We will explain material changes to these terms before they apply and seek agreement where required. A change of Platform Operator does not, by itself, transfer an existing contract or remove earlier obligations.
